These Are The Days

Smart ~ Writer ~ Mom

Welcome! I’m Kim. I’m a blogger and writer from Boston now living in Delaware. Wife to one. Mom to two girls. And a birthmother involved in an open adoption. I’m a former Walt Disney World cast member so I’m a bit of a Disney freak, too. I write about parenting, current events, open adoption, travel, politics and whatever else pops into my head. I’m glad you’re here.

Follow me on Twitter here. And connect with me on LinkedIn here. And feel free to email me at

I’m not a fan of long, self-serving “about” sections. So in the spirit of introducing myself, here are 5 things I love and 5 things I don’t love so much:

5 Things I Love

  1. That time right before the sun goes down when the sky is a cobalt blue
  2. Foot massages. And back massages.
  3. Books – (this includes e-books, print books and bookstores)
  4. Traveling
  5. The way my girls smell right after a bubble bath

5 Things I Don’t Love So Much

  1. Tailgaters (note: I’m from Boston, which means I can tailgate you if you’re going too slowly…but DON’T tailgate me)
  2. Nails on a chalkboard
  3. Show-offs, braggers, and people that always one-up everyone else
  4. Seafood (I know what you’re thinking. The whole Boston thing, right? Yes, well…seafood? Ick.)
  5. Pepsi products; I’m a solid Diet Coke gal

  1. Ooh, we were so aligned up until the Diet Coke thing! Well, that and the smell of your girls after a bubble bath, because if that was on my Love list that would just be weird. (Former Boston girl, too!)

Thanks so much Kerri! And I have to tell you, my sister’s name is Kerri – spelled the same way. I grew up in Melrose, but my folks are now in the Salisbury/Newburyport area.
And does that mean you’re a Pepsi gal? Or no soda at all? I’m trying to kick the habit, but I don’t drink coffee…got to get my caffeine from someplace 🙂

  2. Love the new website, Kim! I don’t eat seafood or fish either — and here I am, living in Florida!
