It’s gonna be a very BLACK AND GOLD weekend around here.
My 9 year old cheers for the local football team and they’ve had a fabulous season – so much so that this Sunday they’ll be playing in the “Superbowl”. And their colors are BLACK AND GOLD.
In fact, tonight the cheerleaders are having a “spirit” party and getting their fingernails painted in black and gold. The excitement is building 🙂
I have to admit I was skeptical about her joining cheerleading. It’s such a dangerous sport. A good friend of mine has a daughter who hurt her neck pretty badly in a stunt gone wrong. But overall, it’s been a great experience this season. She’s discovered what it means to be part of a team. And I like that.
But before the big game Sunday, we’ll be cheering for another black and gold team tomorrow – the UCF Knights! My husband and I are both UCF alumni so we try to go to as many football games as possible each year. We’ve got new football shirts and jerseys – even for our littlest Knight. And we’ve got some tattoos to put on our faces.
Hopefully both teams will have victories this weekend! Go Falcons! Go Knights!
