These Are The Days

One Month To Go

We leave for a 7-day cruise in one month and I can’t wait. It will be a Christmas cruise with my husband’s side of the family – although we won’t be on the ship for Christmas Day.

What’s funny is the things I enjoy most about cruising have little to do with the ship, the amenities, the pools, or even the food.

The things I love best about cruising are (in no particular order):

THE COCKTAILS

THE SPA

NO LAUNDRY

NO MEAL PLANNING

NO CARPOOL TO VARIOUS SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

Yeah cruising is the ultimate in relaxation for me. In fact, the cruise we took last year was the best vacation our family has ever had (in my opinion). Our kids thought so too. Now granted it was a Disney cruise so it’s pretty much a guarantee that the kids will have fun. This year’s is a Disney cruise too. And one of the best parts of a Disney cruise is the kids’ activities – which means a little more quiet time for me and my husband.

Have I mentioned that I can’t wait? 🙂

  1. Ooh, I’m so jealous! Hubby and I are huge Disney fans, but he doesn’t fly or cruise so we always end up at WDW (not that I’m complaining!). I’ve always wanted to cruise – hello, unlimited cocktails and buffets! I hope you do a detailed trip report when you get back.

  2. It’s not quite unlimited cocktails…but definitely unlimited food and non-alcoholic beverages. If you ever get the chance, you have to go. Cruising is so relaxing…and yes I’ll give a full report when we return 🙂

  3. Ooh sounds awesome. I have never been on a cruise and really want to! Have so much fun when the time comes!

    • OK you have to go! And take your little one, too. All cruises are pretty good but I’m partial to the Disney cruises. Trust me, adults have as much fun as the kids.
